Patient, Staff, and Management Training

Training is the key foundation for the success of the wound program. We train the patient, the clinic staff, and the management team in the use of the program.

Three types of training are included with the program.

 

Patient Training

Patient Training is very simple and easy to understand and takes about 5 to 7 minutes to complete.

The patient is taught the process of normal wound healing that will take place using the HMD "Pay-for-Performance" Wound Program. The patient is taught three simple things to do when treating the wound at home.

1. Spray the wound with HMD Wound Support Solution at each dressing change.

2. Apply the protective dressing as directed by your doctor or nursing staff

3. The PEMF treatment coil is placed over the outside of the dressing at the wound site and turned on. Simply secure the treatment coil to the dressing with tape. The PEMF treatment is continuous. There is no need to turn it on and off.

4. The patient should come into the clinic once a week for the first 30 days of treatment so that the doctor can assess the wound progress. After the first 30 days of treatment, the patient can be seen every two weeks for wound assessment,documentation and compliance.

Staff Training

Clinic Staff Training is done at the time of Program set-up and installation. It normally takes about 30 minutes and covers:
  • Wound Healing Progression
  • HMD Wound Support Solution Protocol
  • Xylinum Cellulose( DermafillT)Dressing
  • PEMF
  • Documentation & Recording Data
  • Reports

Management Training

Management Training covers the Web-Based Documentation and Reporting system.

This training normally takes one hour with the Clinic's Key Lead Person assigned to the program. This training is done over the web using the HMD Training system and Staff.

The Training covers:

  • Set-up and Log-in
  • New Patient Form
  • Add Patient Information Form
  • Reports
